PILGRIM PINES CAMP MISSION

“The Outdoor Ministry Team and the events hosted at Pilgrim Pines Camp and Conference Center, a ministry of the United Church of Christ, affirms persons of all ages, sexes, genders, gender expressions, sexual orientations, racial or ethnic backgrounds, socio-economic positions, intellectual, developmental, emotional, and physical abilities, or religious affiliation. We seek to:

  • Provide an inclusive and safe environment for personal and spiritual growth.

  • Nurture community by building personal relationships.

  • Encourage care and concern for all of God’s creation.

PILGRIM PINES CAMP VISION
  • To be accepting of a diverse population of opinions, beliefs, ideas and backgrounds.

  • To seek to create a peaceful and healing community in which people learn to cooperate in an inclusive and diverse setting.

  • To encourage a sustainable world through modeling environmentally just practices.

SUMMER CAMP AT HOME MISSION

UCC Camps all over the country have cancelled their summer plans, and we know that summer camp at Pilgrim Pines cannot happen as planned this summer due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The Outdoor Ministries Team has created an at home Pilgrim Pines Summer Camp 2020 program that will still provide a safe, loving community. These were our top priorities while creating the Summer Camp at Home program:

  • All camp offerings will be created with the safety of campers and staff in mind.

  •  All camp offerings will be done well with meaningful programming, in line with our mission and vision.

  • All camp offerings will seek to be participatory and inclusive of ALL campers.

  • All camp offerings will be created to be affordable for families, with Camperships still available.

  • We desire and need to keep Pilgrim Pines Camp fiscally strong; we encourage donations to help with the running of camp during this crisis.

We have been offering Summer Camp in-person at Pilgrim Pines Camp for nearly 80 years, but this is the first time we are adapting our program and our vision to an online option. We ask for your prayers, your support, and your patience as we all find hope-filled ways to continue the beauty and community of camp in a new way, and look forward to being together again on the mountain soon.
